Abu Dhabi (January 20 2013) – The fifth Global Financial Markets Forum (GFMF), the annual conference organized by the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), will bring to Abu Dhabi several Arab central bankers and an array of well-known international statesmen and leaders, who will provide a comprehensive forecasts and analysis of current events.
H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, will launch this year’s GFMF on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. The Forum concludes on February 28. During the conference, speakers and panelists will discuss the critical subjects of the day, including analyzing post Arab Spring environment, the growing role of the UAE in global economy and macroeconomics in 2013.
“NBAD’s Global Financial Markets Forum is established as the most prestigious and coveted regional gathering of the world’s influential thinkers and decision-makers and we continue on to build on its achievement in each successive years,” says Mahmood Al Aradi, the Senior General Manager of Financial Markets Division of NBAD. “This year, as in the past years, GFMF’s speakers will explore on the most important and critical issues impacting regional and global politics and economics.”
Since 2009, GFMF has invited hundreds of attendees to share thoughts and benefit from discussions and analysis by prominent bankers, economists, investors and executives who offer insight and on the critical issues affecting global economy and investors’ sentiments.
Last year’s GFMF attracted more than 700 delegates from across many countries and it featured distinguished speakers such as Paul Volcker, former chairman of the US Federal Reserve System and economic advisor to President Barak Obama; and Axel Weber, former president of Deutsche Bundesbank, the German Central Bank and a member of European Central Bank Governing Council.

GFMF includes Investor Presentation sessions, a program introduced to the region by NBAD 2011 GFMF. The Investor Presentation sessions would be offered on February 25 and 26, prior to the commencement of the conference.
The 2013 GFMF will take place in the prestigious and state-of-the-art Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
